Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run - Seneca Creek
The Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD is the kick off of the Blue Crab Bolt Trail Running Series. The event uses singletrack hiking trails that pass lake views and scenic streams and runs through wooded parkland.
Course options include:
- 5K approximately 3.3 miles, elevation gain about 200 feet.
- 10K approximately 6.4 miles, elevation gain about 450 feet.
The courses string together multiple park trails, with varied terrain and natural features typical of Seneca Creek State Park. Registration includes aid stations, medical support, post race food including breakfast burritos, a race t shirt, awards, and volunteer support. Race operations staff manage check in, bib distribution, and on course aid.
There is a charity partnership with the local non profit Interfaith Works; registrants have an opportunity to make a donation to support and raise awareness of the organization’s local services. The event is staged from the expo field inside Seneca Creek State Park at 11950 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Race rules require visible race numbers, staying on designated trails, and prohibit in ear headphones, pets, pacers, and baby strollers on course.
