Blue Castle Run

The Blue Castle Run is a seven mile trail race that begins and ends at The Blue Pool in Dorset. The 2026 route runs in the opposite direction to previous years and includes a section that goes around The Blue Pool twice. The course passes through ancient woodland, hills, heath, ridges and valleys, and it passes the occasional castle within the Purbecks.

The event is the final race in The Purbeck Trail Series 2026 and places are limited; the event sold out the previous year and no extra places have been added for 2026. Canicross entry is offered in the same distance categories, with limited places.

A single race entry includes access to The Blue Pool nature reserve for the runner, one adult supporter, and up to two children under 16. Usual public entry fees are listed as £7.50 per adult and £3.75 per child; additional non-running supporters must pay the usual entry fee.

The event is cup-less. Runners are asked to bring a collapsible cup for use at the aid station and at the finish.
