Event Overview

Blazing Saddles is a trail race in Codorus State Park, Pennsylvania, organized by the York Road Runners Club and York Ridge Runners. It takes place at Pavilion #3 near the Bandshell.

Distances and Course

The event features three distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 8 Miler

The course uses the Ranger Trail, a mix of singletrack and horse trails with less than a mile of road. It consists of runnable hills and is not flat. The 8 Miler is one loop of the trail, the 25K is two loops, and the 50K is four loops. Weather conditions in March may include rain, sleet, snow, and mud.

Aid and Logistics

A single aid station is located at Mile 8, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and food. A cut-off time of 5:00 PM applies for all finishers, with an aid station cut-off of 3:30 PM for the last loop.

Registration and Rules

All event proceeds support a local animal rescue. Participants who register by February 18th receive event swag. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers.

Event rules prohibit bib transfers, bandit runners, pacers, and crew support. Bibs must be visible, littering is not allowed, and runners must stay on the marked trail. There are no deferrals or refunds, and the event will be held regardless of weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
