Big Al’s 200 : event details

Big Al’s 200 takes place on March 31, 2026 in Franklin, TN, at 9600 Big East Fork Road. The event offers the following set distances:

  • 200 miles
  • 100 miles

Registration closes March 29, 2026. Space is described as extremely limited and camp setup rentals will be offered. The event is hosted on private land.

Course, rules and logistics

The course is a 2-mile loop on mostly single-track trails that share woods with other local loop events. Runners have set overall time limits: the 200-mile field has 120 hours to finish; the 100-mile field is given 48 hours. An early-start option is available for the 100-mile distance, but runners who use the early start are not eligible for podium placement. Runners who drop from the 200 to the 100 are also not eligible for podiums and must stop at 100 miles; continuing past 100 after dropping down will result in a DNF for the 200.

Runners are expected to be largely self-supported. Organizers will provide breakfast and dinner, electrolytes, some aid station items such as broth and soups, and water jugs placed around the course. Loop tracking will be provided in some form, but runners must use GPS and verify their own distance. Elevation gain is listed as 55,000 ft for 200 miles and 27,000 ft for 100 miles. No refunds or deferrals are allowed. Pets are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
