Course and timing

The course is a roughly 2-mile loop, mostly single-track, that shares woods with the nearby "Murder Mile" route. The terrain crosses along black slate springs and ridge lines and includes a significant amount of elevation gain: the 200-mile option lists 55,000 ft total gain and the 100-mile option lists 27,000 ft. Runners have a fixed time window to complete each distance; a formal early-start option is available for the 100-mile race.

Support, tracking and rules

Runners are self-supported but organizers will serve breakfast, dinner, electrolytes, broth and soup at aid points and provide water jugs. Participants must use GPS to log distance; organizers will also track loops but runners are expected to verify distance covered. Runners may leave and return to the race during the event. Awards: 200-mile finishers receive a jacket and buckles; 100-mile finishers receive buckles. There are no refunds or deferrals. Pets are not allowed.
