The Tennessee Mile

The Tennessee Mile is a multi-division, timed loop event held December 4 to 6, 2026 near Franklin, Tennessee on private land at 9600 Big East Fork Road, about 20 minutes from downtown Franklin. The event is organised as repeated laps on a measured loop and includes both adult and youth divisions.

Distances and divisions:

  • 40 Hour
  • 24 Hour
  • 12 Hour
  • 8 Hour Night
  • 6 Hour
  • 3 Hour
  • Youth 5K (16 and under)

The course is a 1.1 mile loop with roughly 340 feet of elevation gain. Runners will encounter two significant climbs, runnable sections between them, and a downhill through a field to the start and finish area. The surface is an old logging road with a wide double track trail.

Runners are responsible for tracking their own laps. There is no time limit on an individual loop; participants log as many or as few laps as they choose within their division time. Crews may provide aid and support anywhere on course. Participants must bring their own aid setup; event organisers will provide water and electrolytes but not individual nutrition. Camping is allowed in the large field; camping tents that require stakes and strings are not permitted in the start and finish area. Pop-up canopy style tents are permitted for crew use in the crew area.

Pacing rules distinguish casual company from competitive pacing. Company may walk laps with a runner but sustained pacing that provides competitive advantage is not allowed and can result in disqualification. Division specific pacing allowances vary between divisions.

There are no refunds or deferrals for this event. Proceeds may be used to support property maintenance for future events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
