Bell Ringer Trail Run

The Bell Ringer Trail Run takes place on Saturday, December 12, 2026 at Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, Tennessee. The event offers trail races that use the park's trail network and was first held in 2014; it attracts runners from multiple states.

The race includes these distances:

  • 50K about 31 miles on park trails
  • 25K about 15 miles on park trails
  • 15K about 9 miles in the woods

The course features multiple uphill and downhill sections and terrain described as moderately difficult. Aid stations are placed approximately every 5 to 6 miles and supply water and a range of snacks. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own water bottle or hydration pack. Drop bags are permitted and can be sent to Aid Station 3 at miles 8.8, 15.1, and 29.8.

There are fixed cutoff checkpoints on the 50K course at miles 7, 21, and 27.25, plus a final cutoff at the finish. Runners who miss cutoffs will be asked to stop and will be provided transportation back to the Inn.

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Awards are turned from park wood and engraved locally. All finishers receive finisher medals. Packet pickup is available at the Montgomery Bell State Park Conference Center on the day before the race and on race day. Refunds and bib transfer rules follow the event policy.
