Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra takes place on 20 December 2025 in Kirkby Lonsdale, with the event base at The Royal Barn (LA6 2AB). The minimum age is 18. Entry fee is £45. Route, services and kit
The route is a loop of 65 km (40 miles) with approximately 2000 m (6500 ft) of ascent. The course does not pass through towns, uses mostly footpaths and bridleways with some boggy sections, and includes about 10 km of tarmac. The route passes seven summits and includes two checkpoints with feed stations offering hot food, drinks and refreshments. Finishers are offered beer or mulled wine and sourdough pizza with a crumble box.
Mandatory kit is checked at registration and includes items such as a rucksack or race vest, running trail shoes, waterproof jacket and overtrousers with taped seams, warm hat and warm layer, waterproof gloves, survival bag, map, GPS unit (not a phone), compass, whistle, a small first aid kit, water and food, head torch with spare batteries, and a mobile phone.
