Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra is a winter trail ultra held on 20 December 2025 with a start and finish at The Royal Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2AB. The event required entrants to be 18 or older. Entries opened on 10 July 2025 and closed on 11 December 2025. The entry fee was £45 and the entry list showed 28 participants.

Course and logistics

The route is a loop of 65 km / 40 miles with about 2000 m / 6500 ft of ascent. The course stays mostly on footpaths and bridleways, includes some boggy sections, and has approximately 10 km on tarmac. The route does not pass through any towns and includes seven summits and several local landmarks. Participants must be able to self-navigate the whole loop using a map or a GPS unit. There are two checkpoints with feed stations that provide hot food, drinks and sweet items. A GPX file was provided to entrants. A cut-off time was specified.

Mandatory kit and event provisions

Mandatory kit was listed and checked at registration; required items included a race vest or equivalent, waterproof jacket and over trousers with taped seams, warm layers, waterproof gloves, survival bag, map, GPS unit (not a phone), compass, whistle, small first aid kit, head torch with spare batteries, water and food, and a mobile phone. Event provisions included a start hot drink and pastry, two feed stations, finish refreshments, sourdough pizza and a crumble box, merchandise and prizes.
