Bewl Water Summer

This event offers four race distances that start and finish beside the Bewl Water Visitor Centre at Bewl Water Country Park, Lamberhurst, Kent. The courses follow the clockwise round the reservoir route and run through forested areas and open countryside around the lake.

Routes are mainly off road and run on a combination of undulating rural wooded trail and some quiet country lanes, with lake views for much of the course. The event takes place within about 1000 acres of Kent and Sussex countryside at the reservoir, which is described as the largest lake in South East England.

Distances and basic route formats:

  • 50 km Ultra: two 12.4 mile loops then a final 6.45 mile loop.
  • Marathon 26.2 mile: out and back 1.4 mile loop then two 12.4 mile loops.
  • Half Marathon 13.1 mile: out and back 0.7 mile loop then one 12.4 mile loop.
  • 10 km: out and back 6.25 mile route with a marshalled turnaround.

Practical details supplied by the organiser include bespoke race medals, slate awards for the top three male and female finishers in each distance, professional chip timing with provisional results uploaded after the race, well stocked checkpoints and marshals, professional race photography available to purchase, and professional first aid support.
