Beulah Challenge
The Beulah Challenge is a set of road and trail races held in Beulah, Colorado, with start and finish at the Beulah School of Natural Sciences, 8734 Schoolhouse Ln. The event includes multiple distances and routes through the Beulah Valley and Pueblo Mountain Park.
Distances
- Half marathon 13.1 miles
- 10K 6.2 miles
- 5K 3.1 miles
Course surfaces and elevations vary by distance. The half marathon combines pavement, dirt roads and single track mountain trails and passes through Pueblo Mountain Park; course elevations range from about 6220 feet to a peak near 7300 feet. The 10K is roughly 85 percent pavement and 15 percent dirt road with elevations from about 6220 to 6500 feet. The 5K is mostly on pavement with a short dirt section, a peak near 6470 feet, and about 240 feet of overall elevation gain.
The half marathon has an official time limit of 3.5 hours, which corresponds to a 16 minute per mile pace. Course support and official timing end based on that pace. Participants who continue after the time limit do so at their own risk and must follow traffic laws while on roadways. Finisher medallions are awarded only to those who finish within the official time span.
Registration is temporarily closed due to the Aspen Acres Fire. Race operations are permitted through the town and use race marshals and Beulah Fire Department for traffic monitoring. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
