Course and aid stations

The route follows the Arkansas River, passes through the granite-blasted Tunnel Drive tunnels, climbs to a high point of 7,109 feet, and runs several miles of singletrack within Royal Gorge Mountain Park. The course crosses what is described as the highest bridge in the United States and finishes with a descent through Temple Canyon. Elevation gain by distance is listed as approximately 575 ft (10K), 2,800 ft (35K), 4,200 ft (50K), and 4,400 ft (35 Mile). Aid stations are placed along the course; Tunnel aid station is not crew-accessible, while Gorge, Temple, and Hard Times aid stations are crew-accessible and accept drop bags. All aid stations are accessible by 2WD vehicles.

Logistics

Pack pickup is scheduled at Centennial Park on the day before the race. Registration closes October 22, 2025. Pacing is prohibited. Included with registration are a gender-specific race shirt, a trucker hat (excludes 10K), a personalized bib and finishers’ award, stocked aid stations, and a post-race meal. The closest major airport listed is Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (about a 55-minute drive); Denver International is listed at about a 2-hour drive.
