The Bridge Burner Ultra takes place in Cañon City, Colorado. It is a late-season event offering four distances: 35 Mile, 50k, 35k, and 10k.
The main course is a single-loop route that starts in the historic town of Cañon City. Runners travel along the Arkansas River and pass through the historic granite tunnels of Tunnel Drive. The course ascends to its highest point at 7,109 feet, offering views of the Royal Gorge, Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and Pikes Peak. The route includes pristine singletrack through Royal Gorge Mountain Park. For the 35 Mile and 50k distances, the course crosses the highest bridge in the United States before descending through Temple Canyon. The total elevation gain is approximately 4,400 feet for the 35-mile distance.
Aid stations are well stocked with nutrition and warm food options. Some aid stations are crew-accessible. Pacing is not allowed. The finish line and most parking are at Centennial Park. Registration includes a gender-specific race shirt, a BOCO trucker hat (for the 35 Mile, 50k, and 35k distances), a personalized bib, a finisher's award, aid station support, and a post-race meal.
