Ben Ledi Uphill Only Race

This is a hill running race and also serves as the Scottish Athletics Senior and U20 Hill Running Championships. It is an uphill-only race.

The course is 5.3 km with a total ascent of 760 meters. It starts from Stank Glen (grid reference NS583103) and finishes on the summit of Ben Ledi. From the summit, competitors must make their own way back down the hill.

The race is open to anyone aged 18 or older. Only members of Scottish Athletics are eligible for the championship medals. Membership details will be checked on the day. The event date is Saturday, 11 April 2026. Online entries open on Monday, 16 February 2026 and close on Thursday, 9 April 2026. Entry fees are £12.00 for Scottish Athletics members and £15.00 for non-members.

All runners must carry mandatory safety gear: a hat, gloves, and waterproof top and bottoms. A thermal top must also be carried if the weather is bad. There are two public toilets in the Retreat Building at Forest Holidays Strathyre, located about 400 meters from the start.

Parking at the start is very limited. Organizers encourage car sharing or parking in Callander and running or cycling to the start. Trail runs nearby

A guided, social trail run on local paths from Milngavie Train Station, held on 19 February 2026. Qualified guides lead the 10 km route; trail shoes and a head torch are mandatory and dogs and under‑18s are not permitted.

A classic hill relay in the Ochils. Teams of four tackle the three-leg course, including a paired leg. The route involves a significant 880 m of climb.

A five hour multi-lap endurance run in a medieval-style village at Carron Valley, with solo and team relay categories, a village hub with aid and music, and costume prizes alongside titles for top finishers.

The Ben Chonzie Hill Race in April 2026 is a Scottish Hill Runners championship event with a new 22.9 km route over Ben Chonzie and Loch Turret. It features a free junior race and post-race refreshments.
