Scottish Athletics Senior and U20 Hill Running Championships Ben Ledi Uphill Only Race

The event is the Scottish Athletics Senior and U20 Hill Running Championships Ben Ledi Uphill Only Race held on 11 April 2026 at Forest Holidays Strathyre, Stank Glen near Callander. The course is an uphill only route to the summit of Ben Ledi covering 5.3 km with 760 m of ascent. The race finishes on the summit; competitors are responsible for making their own way off the hill after finishing.

The race is open to anyone. Championship medals, both individual and team, are awarded only to Scottish Athletics members and membership will be checked. The minimum age for entry is 18 or older. Entries open 16 February 2026 and close 9 April 2026. Entry fees are £12 for Scottish Athletics members and £15 for non members. The entry list showed 102 participants at the time of publication.

Safety requirements state that runners must carry a hat, gloves, and waterproof top and bottoms. In bad weather runners may also be asked to carry a thermal top. Registration takes place at the race start where there will be a tent or vehicle to drop kit. There are two public toilets in the Retreat Building about 400 m from the start. Parking is very limited; participants are advised to car share or park in Callander and travel to the start. Limited parking is available at Bochastle and Ben Ledi car park and parking on the A84 is permitted only in laybys.

Prize medals for the championship are restricted to eligible athletes and event profits will help fund the 2027 EORRC team. Route details are published by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
