Beast of the East 100 at Crowders Mountain

Beast of the East 100 is a multi-distance trail event held at Crowders Mountain / Crowders Ridge near Kings Mountain, NC on December 12, 2026. The event offers several looped trail courses that share a common start and finish at Crowders Ridge and use named trails around the park.

Distances offered:

  • 100 Miler : 101 miles; three full loops and a partial fourth
  • 100K : 67.35 miles; two full loops and a partial third
  • 50 Miler : 53.79 miles; two loops
  • Marathon : single loop using the same route segments
  • Half Marathon : shorter loop to the finish

All courses follow a mapped route that includes Tower Trail, Rocktop Trail, Crowders Trail, Pinnacle Trail, Turnback Trail, Fern Trail and Ridgeline Trail, with aid stations placed along the loop. The course descriptions indicate repeated passes of Wolf's Den, the 161 Aid Station, Boulders Access, and Crowders Ridge Wolf Base.

Elevation gains are listed for each distance: Half Marathon 2,326 ft, Marathon 4,766 ft, 50 Miler 9,538 ft, 100K 11,862 ft, 100 Miler 17,925 ft. There are four aid stations on course offering basic food, some hot items, Tailwind, water and sodas. Trekking poles are allowed. Pacers are permitted for the 100K and 100 Miler after 50 miles. June 27, 2026 trail event in Ellenboro, NC offering 5K, 25K and 50K on a 3 mile farm loop with an out-and-back fire road. Aid station supplies and unique handmade pottery medals; proceeds support farm development.
