Beast of the East 100

Beast of the East takes place at Crowders Mountain, using the Crowders Ridge start/finish area near 130 Camp Rotary Rd, Kings Mountain, NC. Multiple trail distances are offered on the 2025 course routes and the event date is December 12, 2026.

• 100 Mile - 101 miles total, three full loops plus a partial fourth
• 100K - 67.35 miles total, two full loops plus a partial third
• 50 Miler - 53.79 miles total, two loops
• Marathon - route on Crowders Ridge trails (2025 course)
• Half Marathon - route on Crowders Ridge trails (2025 course)

Routes follow mapped singletrack and connector trails including Tower Trail, Rocktop Trail, Crowders Trail, Pinnacle Trail, Turnback Trail, Fern Trail, and Ridgeline Trail, with aid stations at Crowders Ridge, Wolf Base, the 161 Aid Station, and Boulders Access. Elevation gain by distance is listed as: Half Marathon 2,326 ft, Marathon 4,766 ft, 50 Miler 9,538 ft, 100K 11,862 ft, and 100 Mile 17,925 ft.

Aid stations offer basic foods such as pickles wrapped in bacon, cereal, gummies, pretzels, candy, fruit, and some hot options; drinks include Tailwind, water, and soda choices. Trekking poles are allowed. Pacers are permitted for the 100K and 100 Mile after 50 miles. Time cutoffs are: Half Marathon none; Marathon 10 hours; 50 Miler 30 hours; 100K 30 hours; 100 Mile 34 hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
