Beast of the East 100 : Crowders Mountain, Kings Mountain NC

Beast of the East 100 is a trail race held at Crowders Mountain with multiple distances on a looped route that uses Crowders Ridge trails. The event on Saturday, December 12, 2026, lists these distances:

The courses follow a mapped route that includes Tower Trail, Rocktop Trail, Crowders Trail, Pinnacle Trail, Turnback Trail, Ridgeline Trail, Fern Trail and access points near Wolf's Den, 161 Aid Station, and Boulders Access. The 100 mile course uses the same loop repeated three times plus a partial fourth lap to total about 101 miles. The 100K repeats the loop twice with a partial third lap for about 67.35 miles. The 50 miler repeats the loop twice to total about 53.79 miles. Marathon and half marathon use the Crowders Ridge loop route described for the event.

Elevation gain by distance is provided: Half Marathon 2,326 ft; Marathon 4,766 ft; 50 Miler 9,538 ft; 100K 11,862 ft; 100 Miler 17,925 ft.

Four aid stations are on course: Crowders Ridge, Wolf Base, the 161 Aid Station, and Boulders Access. Aid station food includes pickles wrapped in bacon, cereal, gummies, salt pretzels, candy, fruit, and hot options such as bacon and soup. Drinks include Tailwind, water, and sodas. Trekking poles are allowed. Pacers are permitted for the 100K and 100 Miler after 50 miles. Time cutoffs are listed by distance with no time limit for the half marathon.
