The Bear Creek Trailathon: Winter Endurance Challenge is a timed, loop-style endurance event in Robbins, NC on January 17, 2026. The event offers two timed formats: a 6-hour endurance challenge and a 12-hour endurance challenge. This edition is the fourth year of the event. Registration is handled through UltraSignup.

Course and format

There is no minimum distance requirement; participants may run or walk as many laps as they choose within their chosen time frame. Awards are given to runners or run teams who complete the most mileage by the end of the time period. All laps must be completed by the event cutoff to be counted.

The course uses loop options:

  • ~1.3 mile loop
  • ~3 mile loop

Course details and GPX files are scheduled to be uploaded by 1/1/26. Runners may combine the two loops in any sequence during the event.

Charity and organizers

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Robbins Area Christian Ministry food bank. A USATF-certified 5K trail run starting at Sandhills Community College and routed through Southern Pines Reservoir Park. The event features official timing, awards, vendors, massage services, and is dog friendly.

A fall ultramarathon in the Uwharrie National Forest near Troy, NC. Runners repeat a 20.5 mile figure 8 loop for either 100 miles or 100K, with a 36 hour cutoff and a 150 runner field limit.

A four hour timed challenge of repeated one mile loops at Weymouth Woods with a separate five kilometer three loop option. Aid station support, race shirts and medals are provided and prizes go to the top male and female.

Experience a low key no frills 50k run through the rolling hills of North Carolina. Enjoy a community pasta lunch and support local animal advocates while completing this three loop course on asphalt and dirt roads.
