Barossa Run
The Barossa Run is an out and back, looped course with each loop measuring 21.1 km. The course begins at Lyndoch, follows the Barossa Walking Trail to St Hallets Winery, then reverses. The route runs along and through several vineyards and has a start and finish next to a winery in the Barossa wine region. Runners doing less than one loop use an abbreviated out and back; those running farther complete multiple loops.
There are three aid stations on each 21.1 km loop. The primary aid station is at the loop start and finish, a second aid station is passed at about 6 km into the loop, and the third is at the 21.1 km turnaround. All aid stations provide lollies and hydration; the primary aid station also offers first aid. Participants are advised to bring personal hydration if they expect to need extra water.
Bib collection is available only on race day and begins shortly before each wave. A standard race briefing occurs shortly before each wave. A simplified English as a Second Language briefing is offered in two morning sessions using simpler words, slower speech, and more one on one contact.
