Badlands Race Series

The Badlands Race Series is a trail running event held within the Island Lake Recreation Area in Brighton, Michigan. It consists of three separate races on a single course.

Nightfall 50K and Overnight 100K start at 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The Daybreak 50K starts at 7:00 AM on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The course is the same for all events, with the 100K requiring two loops of the 50K route. Each race division is capped at 150 runners, for a total of 450 participants.

Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday evening before the night races and on Sunday morning before the Daybreak 50K.

The event offers a prize purse. The Nightfall 50K and Overnight 100K have cash prizes for the top three finishers in the Women's and Open categories. An additional bonus is offered for beating the course record. The Daybreak 50K does not have a prize purse.
