Event overview
The Badlands Race Series takes place on May 16, 2026 in the Island Lake Recreation Area, Brighton, MI (6301 Kensington Rd). The event is the inaugural running and uses a common start/finish hub for all races. The Overnight 100K consists of two full loops of the 50K course. Two of the three races are held as night races and one is a daytime 50K on the following morning.
The event will host up to 450 participants, with a cap of 150 runners per race division. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the night races and on the morning of the Daybreak 50K. All registrations include a tech hoody and additional small items; finishers who complete their race within cutoffs will receive finisher medals and awards.

The total prize purse is $9,750. Prize distribution is allocated to the Nightfall 50K and the Overnight 100K across Open and Female categories, with additional bonuses for course-record performances. The Daybreak 50K does not carry a prize purse. Early bird and tiered registration pricing is listed for 50K and 100K entries with higher fees later in the registration period.
