Event overview
The Badlands Race Series takes place at Island Lake Recreation Area in Brighton, MI on May 16-17, 2026. The event is the inaugural running and uses a single start/finish hub for all races. The 100K course consists of two full loops of the 50K course. Two of the three races are held overnight and one is held during the daytime. The event is capped at 450 total participants, with each race division limited to 150 runners.

Entry fees, packet pickup and merchandise
Early bird, mid, and late registration pricing is published for both distances, with higher fees for later registration periods. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the night races and on the morning of the daytime 50K. All registrations include a tech hoody and other small items; finishers who complete their race within cutoff receive finisher medals and finisher awards.
Prizes and policies
The published total prize purse is $9,750. Prize money is allocated to the Nightfall 50K and the Overnight 100K; the Daybreak 50K has no prize purse. The refund and credit policy is date-based, with partial refunds available early and no refunds or transfers after mid-April.
