The Huron 100 is a point-to-point trail race through the Huron River Watershed that crosses nine parks (six State Recreation Areas, two Metroparks and one County Park). The 100-mile course is roughly 80% trail with about 8,000 feet of cumulative gain and a maximum elevation near 1,100 ft. The 100-mile race has 15 aid stations, including 8 crew-access stations, and a 32-hour cutoff. The 50-mile option is roughly 83% trail with about 4,300 feet of gain, 8 aid stations including 3 crew-access stations, and a 15-hour cutoff.
Logistics and organization
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, with the start area at Portage Lake in Waterloo State Recreation Area. The 100-mile finish is at Proud Lake Recreation Area Headquarters; the 50-mile finish is at Country Lake Elementary School. Shuttle service is offered between finish locations and the start/parking areas. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race.
Entry fees vary by registration period: the 100-mile fee ranges from $275 to $375, and the 50-mile fee ranges from $175 to $275. The race is a registered 501(c)(3); proceeds support the Huron River Watershed and the event aims to be cupless and zero waste. Volunteer roles include aid station positions; volunteers receive a shirt and registration discounts.
