Backyard Ultra in New Town

The event is a backyard ultra style endurance event held over the night of October 10 to October 11, 2026 at the amphitheater in New Town, Saint Charles, Missouri. It uses a repeating loop format where participants run or ruck a set loop each hour and the last person standing wins the main prize.

Distances offered:

  • 4.17 Miles loop for runners
  • 2.6 Miles loop for ruckers; women's minimum weight 20 lb, men's minimum weight 30 lb

Registration carries a base fee of $25 to cover event costs and race tokens. In addition, each completed loop requires a one dollar contribution to a communal jar. The final remaining participant receives half of the jar and the other half will be donated to Multisystemic Smooth Muscle Dysfunction Syndrome research and support. Participants who complete a lap receive a custom New Town Ultra DNF token. Separate prizes will be awarded to first place in the men's and women's divisions; prize details are not finalized.

The amphitheater site offers registration, a start area for each lap, nearby restroom facilities, and space for participants to set up between loops. Nearby food options include restaurants and coffee and ice cream outlets. Volunteer staffing is planned into the overnight period to support continuing laps.
