Austin's Backyard Marathon & Memorial Day Remembrance Run

Austin's Backyard Marathon & Memorial Day Remembrance Run takes place on May 23, 2026 in Marble Falls, Texas, near Lago Vista and Lake Travis. The event includes an officially sanctioned Backyard Ultra plus separate marathon and half marathon options. The course runs on a 4.167 mile loop that follows a peninsula into Lake Travis and combines shoreline paths, shaded sections, paved stretches, and some technical trail.

The Backyard Ultra uses a last person standing format. Participants must complete each 4.167 mile loop within 60 minutes; a new loop begins at the top of each hour. Runners who fail to finish a loop in time or who choose not to start the next loop are eliminated. Organizers reported progress toward Bronze Ticket qualifying status following the 2025 inaugural event.
