Course, support, and logistics
The trail passes through meadows, creek crossings, scenic overlooks, and a large granite dome. The 4 and 8 mile routes follow portions of the full lap with marked cutoffs to return runners to the finish. Course markings include caution tape, arrows, and confidence markers; reflective materials are used for dark-hour running.
Aid stations: staffed LAKE A.S. and JACK A.S. will offer full supplies; ROAD A.S. and GATE A.S. will have at least water, Tailwind, ice, and snacks. Runners on the 8 mile and longer should be prepared to carry water during exposed granite sections. Drop bags may be placed at the Lake A.S. and at the Gate (360 Bridge) but are not delivered or monitored. All races are chip timed with ankle-worn chips; results show gun time and chip time. Pacers are allowed under specified rules. Camping and day-use fees apply at the ranch; racer camping is $20 per night and racers’ day-use fees are covered for race day.
