Course and support

All distances run on the Sonoran Loop, which includes steep inclines, swooping turns, technical descents, and rugged terrain. The 52K is listed as about 31.8 miles with roughly 2,550 feet of total elevation gain and a maximum elevation near 1,707 feet. Aid is provided at a fully stocked start/finish station and at a remote North Ridge Aid (KM 6.4). Aid stations supply water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups, and hot food. This is a CUPLESS event; runners should bring a reusable cup or purchase one on site.

Crews may access the start/finish area. Pacers are permitted only for the 52K and only on the final loop. A designated area is available for drop bags at the start/finish.

Logistics

There is ample parking adjacent to the Competitive Track; the park charges a $7 vehicle entry fee. Camping is permitted near the start/finish; a camping permit is $15 per night. Expect hot conditions at the start, with temperatures noted in the mid to high 90s and typically remaining in the 80s later in the night. Online registration closes August 3.
