Fat Ox Endurance Runs

Event Overview

The Fat Ox Endurance Runs is a multi-day fixed-time and fixed-distance running festival held at Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear, Arizona. The event takes place on a USATF certified loop and serves as a venue for runners to achieve personal bests or complete their first ultra-distance race. In 2026, the event also hosts the USATF 24-Hour Road Championship.

Course Information

Participants run on a 0.988178 mile concrete loop that circumnavigates the Turf Picnic area. The course is flat, featuring only 6 feet of elevation gain per loop. To ensure fairness, runners change direction every six hours. While some sections have dirt on the outside of the path, runners must stay outside the cones on curves to avoid disqualification. The venue does not have course lighting, so participants running at night must use their own headlamp or flashlight.

Facilities and Support

A fully stocked aid station is available 24 hours a day directly on the course, providing meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with standard snacks and drinks. Support crews can set up personal trackside stations with tables and chairs at no extra charge. On-site medical services are provided by an EMT throughout the 48-hour duration. Camping is available in a dirt lot approximately 400 feet from the course, with options for tent and cot rentals.

Awards

Top three male and female finishers in each category receive awards. All participants who complete their respective distances or time limits receive a finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
