The 50K is a single-loop course that briefly enters the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The 50 Mile route includes three out-and-back climbs and reaches Thompson Peak on the higher sections. Courses are marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated signs, and blue and white checkerboard flagging for wrong-way trails.

Support includes aid stations spaced roughly every 3 to 10.5 miles, drop-bag service at specified locations, chip timing at the finish, on-site MedStar medical staff at the start/finish headquarters, and post-race food. Crews are allowed at the start/finish; pacers are permitted only for 50 Mile runners on the final loop within the Competitive Track. Parking is at the Competitive Track lot with overflow nearby and a park entry fee applies per vehicle. The event operates cupless aid station options and maintains trail etiquette and leave-no-trace practices. A Charity Beer Garden supports Wilderness Volunteers and awards are given to top finishers and all finishers receive a finisher award.
