McDowell Mountain Frenzy Trail Runs

McDowell Mountain Frenzy is a set of trail races held at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills, Arizona on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The event offers multiple distances that run on desert single track, competitive track trails, and sections that enter the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Courses include rolling single track, short steep climbs and drops, and recently built trails such as Coach Whip and Dixie Mine.

Aid stations are located throughout the courses, generally spaced every 3 to 10.5 miles. The event uses chip timing with live split tracking and posts results; awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance and all finishers receive a finisher award. Drop bags are allowed for specified distances at named aid stations and crews are permitted at the start/finish area; pacers are allowed only for the 50 Mile race on its final loop. Medical staff from MedStar Solutions are based at the start/finish headquarters. The park charges a vehicle entry fee; overflow parking is available across the street at the Four Peaks Staging Area.
