Desert Solstice Track Invitational

Desert Solstice is an invitation or qualification only ultrarunning track meet held at Camelback High School track in Phoenix, AZ. The event uses a 400 meter all-weather track with portable restrooms and a fully stocked aid station offering water, electrolyte drinks, and food. Loop elevation is listed as 0 feet per lap and the course has two electronic timing points per lap for record submission.

Entry for the 24 Hour and 100 Mile is limited to 25 runners. Qualifying marks must be recent with no results older than December 2022; the standard entry fee applies to all entrants. The direction of travel on the track changes every four hours. Runners receive assigned shared personal space under a 10x10 canopy with two tables for hydration and nutrition; additional personal setups are permitted behind these tables.

Rules and procedures address pacing, pacing allowances, and equipment. Pacing is permitted under the event rules while pacers are not allowed. Headphones may be used for music only with dedicated MP3 players; use of a phone for music may affect record eligibility. Shoes must conform to World Athletics road category specifications. Night trail races at San Tan Mountain Regional Park with 54K, 27K, 18K, 9K and 6K options on a 9 km loop through desert trails and saguaro cactus. Aid stations, chip timing and medical staff are provided.

Six night trail races in Maricopa County parks from April to September with distances from 5 km to 75 km, series pass options with a 20% discount, and a points system that counts the best three results toward series prizes.
