All events start and finish at the Trailhead. The main course uses a 5-mile loop and a 1-mile loop; laps are recorded as participants complete loops. A full ultramarathon-style aid station will be available between loops and will highlight Dakota foods; a self-serve water and energy drink station is located at mile 3 of the 5-mile loop. Pacers are permitted with the restriction that each runner may have only one pacer at a time. Relay teams must exchange runners only between loops.

The Trailhead area will host an Indigenous People’s festival with Native vendors, chefs, running groups, artists, storytellers, and community partners, plus family activities and traditional games. Parking is available at the Mortenson Parking Lot (700 Meadow Ln N) with limited Trailhead parking; biking and public transit are noted as alternative options. Awards include pumpkins decorated by the Little Loopet participants; a special event swag item is offered with advance registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
