The Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ Loopet Loppet is a trail event on October 17, 2026, that highlights Dakota people, land, and traditions along Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ (Bassett Creek). All events start and finish at the Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Park. Relay teams may include up to four members and exchanges are allowed only between loops. Pacers are permitted under event rules. A full ultramarathon-style aid station between loops will feature Dakota foods; the Trailhead station will offer an electrolyte beverage from Tailwind Endurance and a self-serve water station is available at mile 3 of the 5-mile loop. Drop bag storage is available at the aid station. There is a field by the start/finish for participants and spectators; this area is unmonitored and the organizer is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Parking is recommended at Mortenson Parking Lot (700 Meadow Ln N); limited parking is available at the Trailhead. Additional options include bike parking and local bus service that stops at the Trailhead. Registration for 2026 opens January 1, 2026. Current listed prices include Individual 12-hour $85, Individual 6-hour $79, Relay $55, 1 Loop Fun Run/Walk $32, and Kids Little Loopet free.
