5K Valentines self navigational Trail Run

This is a 5K self navigational trail run held on 14 February at Nuclear Essex in Brentwood, Essex. The event is organised to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and is open to participants aged 7 and above. The run is expected to take approximately one hour.

Participants receive a navigation route with checkpoints placed around the course. Runners must locate the checkpoints and complete the course using the provided route. Under 16 year olds must be accompanied by a paying adult.

A night street orienteering event in Chelmsford on 21 January using MapRun with two courses of 4.0 km and 7.3 km. It counts toward the Essex Winter Midweek Series with handicap scoring and an Anytime catch-up option.

Join the Dark Horse Trail on 21 January 2026 for a 5 mile self navigated run around Galleywood Common, starting and finishing at the Horse and Groom pub. Limited to 60 places, entry includes a sausage or veggie burger with chips.

Dark Rose is a 5.5 mile trail race around Great Waltham with a small 75 runner field and self navigation route given on the day. Finish back at the Rose and Crown for a hearty cottage pie or vegetable lasagne.

Nighttime street orienteering in Basildon as part of the Essex Winter Midweek Series 2025/26. MapRun is used and two score-format courses are offered with series points awarded using an age and gender handicap system.
