5 Peaks - Devon
Event overview
The Devon race is the final event of the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series in Northern Alberta. The event uses river valley trails near the Town of Devon, featuring both single track and hard-packed trails and notable autumn river valley colours. The start and finish are at the Devon Lions Campground, which includes a pavilion with a warm fire in the pre-race area. Runners, hikers, cyclists, and campers use the river valley trails.

- 3 km Kid's Race
- 8 km Sport Run or Hike
- 16 km Enduro Run or Hike
- 24 km Grit Run
The main loop begins with a climb to the top of a ridge, descends single track to a bluff overlooking the campground, and finishes with about 2 km of hard-packed trail along the river. The sport distance completes the loop once, the enduro twice, and the grit distance three times. The 3 km kids race climbs to the top of the River Valley Alliance Trail and finishes with a downhill into the finish.
Logistics and rules
There is no on-site parking; participants are asked to park at John Maland High School where continuous shuttle loops run to the start/finish. Washrooms are available at the start/finish area. The event is cup-free; water and electrolyte drink are provided at the start/finish and at one or more aid stations. The course prohibits dogs, headphones, strollers or baby joggers, and nordic walking poles. All finishers in Sport, Enduro, and Grit receive finisher swag; sustainably sourced wooden medals made in Canada are available.
