5 Peaks - Canmore Nordic Center #1
Event
Canmore #1 is a 5 Peaks Trail Running race held at the Canmore Nordic Centre on Saturday, June 6. The race is part of the 5 Peaks Trail Running series in Central Alberta. The Canmore Nordic Centre hosted the nordic and biathlon events at the 1988 Winter Olympics and offers a network of singletrack and double track trails with mountain views.

Race course and logistics
The course includes hill climbs, technical and flowy singletrack, loops through lower and upper trail sections, and notable elevation gain. The start and finish are at the main stadium near the Day Lodge. Washroom facilities are available at the start/finish area. Spectators are permitted. Parking is available in the main and overflow parking areas near the Day Lodge; a Kananaskis Pass is required for the day and is not included with registration.
Safety, aid and awards
Participants in the Sport, Enduro, and Grit distances are required to carry bear spray; children in the 1 km and 3 km events are not required to carry bear spray and additional volunteers will assist on those courses. The event is cup-free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start/finish and at one or more aid stations on course. Finisher swag is given to all finishers of Sport, Enduro, and Grit. Awards are given to the top three in each gender and age category for each distance and to the top three male and female overall; awards must be picked up at the race.
