13 Mile Trail Race Top Down : Almaden Quicksilver County Park

The event is a point to point half marathon held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, beginning at the Mt. Umunhum parking lot and finishing at the Hacienda Entrance parking lot of Almaden Quicksilver County Park, 21785 Almaden Rd, San Jose, CA 95120. The course measures about 13.4 miles with a total ascent of 1,909 feet and descends from Mt. Umunhum toward the Hacienda parking area.

The course uses single track and trail connections. The first three miles on the Mt. Umunhum Trail have no ribbons; after that the route is marked with pink ribbons, orange cones, signs and gypsum. Toilets are available at the start, at the finish and at all aid stations. Aid and water stations are located along the route at approximately mile 3.2, mile 5, mile 7.9 (Woods Parking Lot, toilet available), and mile 10.9. The event enforces a 5.5 hour time limit for the half marathon and cutoffs are strictly enforced.

Online registration is offered through the evening before the race. Fees listed are $100 for advance registration and $110 in person; prices do not include processing fees. Active military and first responders receive a 15 percent discount. Entry fees are non refundable but may be transferred to a future Troy’s California Trail Runs event with advance notice. Participants may purchase technical shirts during registration or at the event while supplies last. Buses transport runners to the Mt. Umunhum start; the ride is about 20 to 25 minutes.
