Trail Running calendar near Wimbleball Lake 2026-2027

A 5km and 10km run through Westonbirt Arboretum on 7 February 2027, with firm trail terrain and routes through areas showcasing over 2,500 tree species. The event is family friendly and tickets are currently sold out.

A 17 mile self navigated trail run through scenic East Devon. Runners visit four distinct trig points on a course that starts and ends at the Sidmouth Watersports Hub.

A measured 10 mile road race in Melksham with a route through Lacock, a finisher medal and prizes across age categories. The field is limited to 300 places and entries close on 1 January 2027 or earlier if full.

A trail event in Dalwood on 14 February 2027 offering 10 miles, 5 km and 3 km routes across hilly, muddy countryside with river crossings. The event is licenced by the Trail Running Association and follows UK Athletics rules.

A self navigation coastal trail on the South West Coast Path around Portland offering Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k options with mandatory kit requirements and entries capped at 500.

The Love Run at Pengethley Manor offers chosen distances from 5k to Ultra on a tough off‑road course with a seven hour time limit. Virtual entries and several medal options are available, and the event is open to walkers and runners.

A supported winter traverse across Dartmoor on 20 February 2027 with 50 km and 30 km options. Guides, GPX and GPS trackers are provided and coach transport options are available.

Two Tunnels in Bath on 21 February 2027 offers many distances and runs through two long restored, lit and surfaced railway tunnels under the city, with start and finish at Brickfields Park and a charity contribution to Sustrans.

A night trail event from South Brent Old School Community Centre offering marked 9 mile and 5 mile courses across moorland and paths. The event includes food, live music, a shared sauna and a King and Queen of the Night beacon with a prize.

Trail races on Dartmoor centred on Widecombe in the Moor, with a half marathon, an eight mile 7EVEN and an ultra that uses much of the original route. Courses include double ascents of the Hameldown Ridge and varied moorland terrain.

A 7 hour Time Challenge at Dare Valley Country Park on 28 February 2027 offering flexible distances from 3 km up to ultra and 50 km, with medals, distance pins, goody bags and on-course aid at each lap.

March 2027

Trail ultramarathon near Crickhowell offering 10, 20 and 40 mile marked routes with GPX files, canicross access, mandatory kit checks, three refuel zones and on site facilities.

A winter ultra around Bristol along the Community Forest Path, offered as a 45-mile full loop or 30-mile partial loop run anti-clockwise. The event is self-navigated with GPX files, checkpoints, chip timing and mandatory kit requirements.

The Imber Ultra is an annual trail run of just over 33 miles organised by Avon Valley Runners and the Rotary Club of Westbury, with route details, checkpoints, results and photos provided by the organisers.

Trail races from Larmer Tree Gardens take runners around the Rushmore Estate with distances from a fun mile to a marathon. Courses pass chalk valleys and woodlands and include multiple feed stations and event medals.

Coastal trail run from Swanage seafront to Corfe Castle with three distances, firm chalk and sandy paths, race services on course and a return trip on a private vintage steam train.

A looped trail event from Bath Racecourse with 50 km, 29 km and 10 km route options through Bath and nearby countryside, staffed rest stops, GPS tracking, medical support, and a finisher medal and T shirt.

A 50k east to west Dartmoor traverse organised by Wild Running with solo and pairs entries, live GPS tracking and up to three checkpoints. The route covers moorland and villages, has 1327 m of ascent and a 10 hour cut off.

Trail races around Escot Park offer a single-lap 10K (about 10.5 km) and a two-lap half marathon, both off-road with climbs and mud; canicross categories are available and medals are awarded to all finishers.
