Tarka Trail Railway Races 2026

The event uses the Tarka Trail, a traffic free shared use path on the old railway line from Barnstaple. The route runs alongside river estuaries and through woodlands, with a tarmac surface and a generally flat profile. Heritage features remain visible along the route, including signal boxes, stations, trains and carriages, and there are several bridges and tunnels. The trail is largely traffic free with a small number of road crossings.

Multiple race distances are offered on measured, UK Athletics certified courses. The event includes family oriented activities at Woolmers Farm Barn such as a colourburst run, bouncy castles and face painting. Tickets for this event are currently sold out. The organiser is Relish The Great Outdoors, which stages family and beginner friendly running events in locations across the South West of England.
