South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge
South West Coast 50 Ultra CHALLENGE® takes place on Sat 24 July 2027 along the South West Coast Path and across Exmoor, based at a Dunster basecamp near Dunster Castle. The event offers multiple distance options and on-site festival style facilities including camping, a bar, transfers, and parking.

The 50 km route includes the Minehead section of the South West Coast Path and crosses Exmoor with varied terrain and approximately 1600 metres of climb. Rest stops are provided at roughly every 12.5 km with larger facilities about every 25 km. Major rest stops include marquee cover, seating, catering, changing areas, medical and welfare tents, and massage services.
The route is fully signed and uses GPS tracking via an event App. The timing system scans participants at rest stops and a control room monitors progress. Catering provides snacks every 12.5 km, meals about every 25 km, energy drinks, lighter options for runners, and provisions for dietary requirements. Camping packages are available with showers and chill out areas. Medical support includes doctors, paramedics, first aiders, podiatrists, and mobile emergency teams.
