South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge

The event takes place on Saturday 25 July 2026 around the South West Coast Path and Exmoor, with a basecamp located in Dunster near Dunster Castle. It offers supported walking, jogging, and running options, basecamp camping, festival style hospitality, parking and transfers. There are solo challenger and Ultra March categories, plus a Trailblazerz option for faster runners.

Distances offered include:

  • 50 km loop, ~1600 m climb, Dunster basecamp start and finish
  • 25 km options, ~600 m or ~1000 m climb, two half-loop choices
  • 10 km loop around the Deer Park next to the castle

The route is fully signed with arrows and night glow-sticks and includes GPS tracking via an event app. Covered rest stops appear about every 12.5 km with larger stops about every 25 km; these have marquee cover, catering, seating, medical and welfare tents, and changing areas. Catering includes snacks roughly every 12.5 km and meals about every 25 km, with dietary options and lighter choices for runners.

Medical support comprises doctors, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists and massage teams, plus mobile emergency medical teams coordinated from a 24 hour control room. Finishers receive a medal, finisher T-shirt, a glass of fizz and an official certificate. Shuttle buses and parking are available and there are bookable extras for transfers and camping packages. Trail runs nearby

Experience the dramatic coastline and steep moorland of Exmoor National Park across five trail distances. Run past towering cliffs and through the Valley of Rocks on technical terrain starting from Lynton.

A Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Coopers Field, Bute Park on 02 May 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide to raise funds for cancer research. The event has a £50 minimum fundraising target and is for ages 13 and over.

Experience a scenic 50 mile point to point ultra from Taunton to Minehead, starting on flat canal towpaths then rolling coastal trails past marshes, beaches and woodland. Enjoy aid stations, a medal and stunning Westcountry views.

A 50 mile trail ultramarathon on coastal and upland terrain around Minehead with about 7,337 ft of ascent, six aid stations and a 16 hour cutoff. It is a cupless race with GPX navigation provided.
