Trail Running calendar near Birmingham 2026-2027

A 26.2 mile section of the Rose of the Shires Ultra, the Rosebud Marathon runs across Northamptonshire trails, roads and canal towpath with two staffed checkpoints and GPS tracking provided.

A spring trail event at Carsington Water in Derbyshire on 10 April 2027 offering Half Marathon and 10k routes around the reservoir. Routes are marked and GPX is provided; entries include a themed medal and chip-timed results.

An out and back ultra on the traffic free Brampton Valley Way that pairs Market Harborough and Northampton in a county competition, covering 45 km with timing mats at both ends, aid stations, tunnels and a seven hour cut off.

A Peak District fell race on 14 April 2027 covering 4.8 km with 340 m of ascent. Pre-entry and on-the-day entry are available and juniors aged 14 and over run in the main race.

A 200 mile point to point trail race across South Wales from Chepstow to Worm’s Head, with a 120 hour limit, live runner tracking, eight aid stations and organised drop bag support.

City-centre trail event on 17 April 2027 with two route choices: a 55 km ultra and a 25 km trail run that use riverside paths, old railway sections, parks, and Leigh Wood Nature Reserve.

A guided 18 mile trail across the Malvern Hills with over 1300 m of ascent, run at a social pace. Meeting in Great Malvern with parking and nearby train access, cost £39 per person and alcohol free beer may be offered afterwards.

A 50K trail ultramarathon across the Chiltern Hills from Berkhamsted Castle to Hampden Meadow, routed via Ashridge, Ivinghoe Beacon, Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill. Fully marked course, three checkpoints and a nine hour cutoff.

The Inflatable 5K at Donington Park on 17 April 2027 is a lap-based inflatable obstacle run with giant slides, tunnels and five music zones. Distances range from 2.5 km to 15 km and include hydration, medical cover and a finisher medal.

A 102 mile ultramarathon around Chester with 1590 m ascent, 12 supported checkpoints, a 32 hour cut off and live GPS tracking. The event is TRA licensed and awards ITRA and UTMB points.

A trail running event in the Brecon Beacons on 17 April 2027 offering marked 10, 20 and 40 mile routes from Henderson Hall with well stocked checkpoints, mandatory kit checks and canicross-friendly entries.

A guided trail marathon of 42.2 km through the Chiltern Hills, including parts of the Ridgeway and Wendover Woods. English Athletics qualified leaders provide navigation and support, with refreshment stops and a wooden finisher's medal.

A scenic 10k trail race through the Nene Valley on Sunday 18 April 2027, starting and finishing at KC Active in Kings Cliffe. Entry is via SiEntries with a £22 fee and a minimum age of 16.

Ibstone Circle on 18 April 2027 offers multi-terrain 5 km and 10 km routes through Wormsley Estate with a steep section called the Ibstone Kicker, plus a children s Run In Colour with 1 km and 2 km options.

A trail running event at Elvaston Castle Country Park with three measured off-road distances, riverside and woodland routes, marked course, aid stations and chip timing.

A multi-distance canal and riverside ultraseries based at Streatley-on-Thames, featuring TR250, TR150 and TR100 with GPS tracking, checkpoint support and required navigation using provided GPX files and maps.

An inflatable obstacle course event in St Albans on 24 April 2027 offering 2.5k, 5k, 10k and 15k options with multiple inflatables, five music zones and a finisher medal. No timing and family friendly.

Malvern Hills Trail Half Marathon is a 13 mile offroad race on 24 April 2027 across woodlands, fields and a ridge near Wynd's Point, with three aid stations, staffed checkpoints and a timed, signposted route; places are limited.

A walking and running event around Bath with routes of 12.5, 17, 21 and 26.5 miles over public footpaths, staffed checkpoints, a finisher's medal and post-event refreshments.

A 10 kilometre running safari at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, organised by Curly's Athletes and supporting the Wildlife Foundation. The single loop mixed surface course is UK Athletics licensed and entry includes park access.
