Trail Running calendar near Birmingham 2026-2027

A night race at Westonbirt National Arboretum on 6 February 2027, with scenic routes through tree collections and firm trail-like surfaces. Distances include 5 km and 10 km; tickets are currently sold out.

A backyard ultra near Crickhowell on a 4.167 mile loop combining trail and tarmac. First eleven loops must be completed each within an hour and a final lap is raced to determine the winner.

A 5km and 10km run through Westonbirt Arboretum on 7 February 2027, with firm trail terrain and routes through areas showcasing over 2,500 tree species. The event is family friendly and tickets are currently sold out.

Irchy Park Canicross is a 5k trail event at Irchester Country Park on 7 February 2027, run over grass, dirt and hard-packed woodland tracks. The race features a staggered start, on-course first aid, trophies, medals and dog treats.

Scenic winter trail running around Carsington Water in Derbyshire offering a half marathon and a 10k. Entries include a themed medal, chip timing and race photos, and marked routes with a GPX file available.

A UKA measured 10 mile road race in Melksham on 14 February 2027 that runs out to Lacock. Prizes for overall and veteran categories, medals for all finishers, facilities include toilets, refreshments and two water stations.

Choose your distance from 5k to Ultra on a tough off road course at Pengethley Manor. Experience vineyard trails with a seven hour time limit and unique medal options for individuals or pairs.

A timed event on a 2.62 mile out and back canal route with flexible rock up and run starts. Distances range from 5 km through marathon and beyond, with a seven hour time limit and a finisher medal for all.

Two Tunnels in Bath on 21 February 2027 offers many distances and runs through two long restored, lit and surfaced railway tunnels under the city, with start and finish at Brickfields Park and a charity contribution to Sustrans.

A 50 miles trail ultramarathon near Chester on 27 February 2027, covering 849 m of ascent with seven checkpoints and live GPS tracking. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and has a 17 hour cut off.

March 2027

Marked trail runs in the Black Mountains from Crickhowell, Powys, with 10, 20 and 40 mile options, stocked checkpoints, mandatory kit checks and cut off times of 5, 8 and 16 hours respectively.

A moorland trail event around Saddleworth offering 26 km, 43 km and 62 km routes that visit reservoirs and rough moorland. Entry fees include refreshments, tracking, medical cover and a post event meal.

Trail races at Loggerheads Country Park in March 2027 offering 5k, 5k canicross and a new 10km route. Varied terrain, riverside paths and a staircase section add distinctive challenges.

A winter ultra around Bristol on the Community Forest Path with two self-navigated distances, chip timing and checkpoint support. Timelords offer pacing and finishers receive event kit and certificates.

A winter ultra around Bristol's Community Forest Path offering 45 or 30 mile anti clockwise routes. Self navigated with GPX support and pacers, timed checkpoints, cup free aid stations and bespoke finisher medal and technical tee.

Trail races at Brynkinalt Estate near Wrexham offer 5k and 10k distances across a weekend, with canicross on Saturday and running on Sunday. Courses use private estate paths and include water stations, finish goodies and race awards.

Fully marked trail races of 10k and half marathon around Pitsford Water, starting at Brixworth Country Park, with village sections on the half, on-course water stations, mandatory cupless kit, prizes and free race photos.

A night-time trail 10 km at Coombe Abbey Park, Coventry where a head torch is required and Petzl may offer demo lamps. The route runs through woodland and meadow with basic on-site facilities and parking.

A guided trail half marathon in the Chiltern Hills covering about 13 miles with 300 m of ascent, group-led by qualified run leaders and including a refreshment point, finisher's medal and Trees not Tees certificate.

Trail running at Harrold-Odell Country Park in Bedfordshire on 13 March 2027 with 25km and 50km options. Early bird and standard entry fees are published and the event is organised by Thunder Races.
