Holt Heath, United Kingdom • 11 Jul 2026

Event

The MTC Severn Way Ultra is a point-to-point ultramarathon held on 11 July 2026. The advertised distance is 57 miles with reported ascent of 365 m and descent of 392 m. The route is described as comparatively flat and is listed with UTMB points t.b.a.

Course and logistics

The race starts at Travelodge Worcester and finishes at Travelodge Stonehouse, GL10 3SQ, following the River Severn through Upton-on-Severn, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Epney, Priding and Frampton-on-Severn. The organiser provides downloadable GPX and map files and recommends using GPX for navigation because parts of the Severn Path can be overgrown and route signs may be obscured. The event has four checkpoint stations. Checkpoints provide food options marked as vegan friendly and gluten free; competitors may supply labelled food bags for checkpoints if other dietary needs apply. The race is point-to-point and competitors must arrange their own transport from the finish.

Entries, awards and requirements

Standard solo entry is listed at £90.00; all deposits and payments are stated as non-refundable. All finishers receive a bespoke Severn Way Ultra medal and a MTC head visor. The first male and first female finishers receive bespoke trophies. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and comply with race rules, including a minimum average speed requirement of 4.0 mph. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, OS Map 150 or downloadable maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food (two chocolate bars), and a basic first aid kit.
