The MTC Severn Way Ultra
The MTC Severn Way Ultra is a 57 mile point to point ultramarathon held on 11th July 2026. The route follows the River Severn through towns including Upton on Severn, Tewkesbury and Gloucester, passing Epney, Priding and Frampton on Severn and finishing at Travelodge Stonehouse GL10 3SQ. The organisers describe the course as comparatively flat with a total ascent of 365 metres and a descent of 392 metres.
There are four checkpoint stations along the route. Checkpoint food and drink are provided with options for competitors who select Vegan or Gluten Free at entry. Competitors may also supply labelled food bags for specific checkpoints at registration. Events are cup free so competitors should bring a reusable cup.
All finishers receive a bespoke MTC Severn Way Ultra medal and a MTC head visor. Prizes include bespoke trophies for the first male and female finishers. Entry is by paid solo entry with fees paid on a non refundable basis.
The event is point to point so competitors must make their own travel arrangements to the start and from the finish. Entrants must be 20 years or over on the start day. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, Ordnance Survey Map 150 or downloadable maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit. Use of GPX files for navigation is recommended as parts of the Severn Path can be overgrown and course signage may vary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
