The MTC Severn Way Ultra

The MTC Severn Way Ultra is a point to point endurance race covering approximately 57 miles along the River Severn. The route runs from Travelodge Worcester to Travelodge Stonehouse and passes through Grimley, Worcester, Upton-on-Severn, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Epney, Priding and Frampton-on-Severn.

The event has four checkpoint stations offering food and drink. Competitors can select vegan or gluten free options during entry; if other dietary needs apply runners must provide their own labelled supplies for each checkpoint. The event is cup free so competitors should bring a reusable cup.

Navigation can be difficult in places where the Severn Path becomes overgrown, so the organisers recommend using GPX files. The race enforces a minimum pace of 4.0 miles per hour and has mandatory checkpoint cut-offs; competitors who fall below the required pace may be removed from the event.

All finishers receive a bespoke MTC Severn Way Ultra medal and a MTC head visor. Podium awards and Mount to Coast shoes are provided to the top finishers as part of the race prizes. Entry for a standard solo place is listed at £90 and all payments are non refundable.

Entrants must meet the event age requirement and carry mandatory kit items, which include a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, an OS map or equivalent, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit.
