The MTC Bristol Severn

The MTC Bristol Severn is a point to point ultra running event covering 30 miles, described as just over marathon distance and generally comparatively flat with one small hill. The route starts at Travelodge Stonehouse (GL10 3SQ), follows the Severn Path and reaches the river at Purton, briefly leaves the river at Sharpness and Newton, then circumnavigates Berkeley Power Station. The course returns to the river passing Oldbury-on-Severn, Oldbury Pill and Littleton Pill, goes under the M48 and M4 motorway bridges and finishes at Severn Beach (Station Road).

There are two checkpoints along the route. Checkpoint food is listed as vegan friendly with items such as malt loaf, jam or peanut butter sandwiches, nuts, fruit, squash, cola and water; the event is cup free so runners are required to use a reusable cup. Competitors must be self sufficient for travel to the start and from the finish.

All finishers receive a bespoke Bristol Severn ultra medal and a Mount to Coast head visor. First male and female finishers receive bespoke trophies. Mount to Coast is the event head sponsor and complimentary pairs of their shoes were awarded to winners in 2024 with the same arrangement noted for 2025.

Entry fees are non refundable and the standard solo entry fee is stated as £80. Entrants must be 18 or over and carry mandatory kit including a backpack, the organiser’s maps or a GPS device with the gpx route, a mobile phone and a basic first aid kit. Competitors must maintain an average of 4.0 miles per hour or they will be removed from the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
