Zion Spartan Trifecta Weekend : Sand Hollow State Park, Hurricane, Utah
The Zion Spartan Trifecta Weekend brings multiple obstacle-course races to Sand Hollow State Park, located just outside Zion National Park. The courses run across high desert terrain with red sand dunes, sandstone ridges, soft sand sections, steep climbs, and views of the park's reservoir.
Racing is scheduled across two days and includes a Trifecta option in which participants complete a Sprint, Super, and Beast within the same weekend. The event program also includes a kids race and spectator access.
Distances and obstacle counts:
- Sprint: 5 km, 20 obstacles
- Super: 10 km, 25 obstacles
- Beast: 21 km, 30 obstacles
- Kids Race: 1–3 km with obstacles
The setting offers a combination of desert running and near-water scenery at Sand Hollow Reservoir and dunes. Course features include open stretches for speed, soft sand that affects footing, and sandstone sections that change elevation and surface texture. The event notes discounts for eligible US service members and first responders and provides team entry options so groups can start together.
Additional event materials listed include race-day information, volunteer opportunities, and guidance on lodging and nearby recreation at Zion National Park and Sand Hollow areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
