Red Mountain 50K, 30K and Dirty Hurty Half Marathon
This trail event is staged on the Santa Clara Reserve near Ivins and Santa Clara, Utah, with courses that start in Santa Clara and finish at Unity Park in Ivins. Distances are built from four repeatable loops that all start and end at the same location.
- 50k - four loops; combined courses total just over 4000 vertical feet.
- 30k - three loops.
- Dirty Hurty Half Marathon (14 miles) - two loops.
Loop details include named segments and approximate mileage and gain: the Green Loop (7.7 miles, 687 ft gain), Blue Loop (5.7 miles, 547 ft gain), Red Loop (10.2 miles, 1768 ft gain), and Orange Loop (6.88 miles, 634 ft gain). The Orange Loop contains an unmanned, self-serve aid point about midway. The primary, staffed aid station and timing checkpoint is at Cove Wash Trailhead; a timing mat records loop splits and athletes competing for awards must pass through the timing station at each loop.
Logistics note that vehicle access to the start is limited and participants are asked to use shuttle transport from the Unity Park finish area. Two drop zones are provided at the start for personal gear: one for transfer to the main aid station and one for items taken to the finish. Finishers receive a short sleeve shirt, a souvenir, a finisher medal, and post-race food. Results are calculated by chip time and are posted after the event.
