Windmill Way Wander

The event is staged from Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. It uses the Windmill Way route and Golding Hills and follows only surfaced roads. The course passes through the villages of Higham, Gazeley, Ashley, Dalham and Denham, and includes views of the Dalham windmill and Dalham Hall from parts of the route.

Layout details vary by distance. Runners covering under half marathon distance follow an out and back with required turnarounds. The half marathon is one loop, the full marathon is two loops, and the ultra includes the run to the 5k turnaround point. The route has rolling hills with a total elevation around 600 ft.

Support and facilities include an aid station with drinks and snacks every 10 km and a Race HQ/Base Camp located at the start and lap point where water and aid are available. Parking is included in the entry price. The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. This festival offers a range of distances on a looped course through Thetford Forest. With an aid station on the lap and complimentary refreshments, it's a self-contained event. Part of your entry fee supports the forest's upkeep.

Take on a scenic spring half marathon through the heart of Thetford Forest. The traffic-free course features hard-packed trails suitable for road and trail runners. All finishers receive a medal.

A guided 16k trail run at High Lodge in Thetford Forest led at a conversational pace, including forest facts and practical trail running tips. Terrain is mostly flat with some small hills; parking is charged at £4 and entry is £17.50.
