Valley of the Owls Run

Bury St Edmunds, United Kingdom • 7 Jun 2026

Valley of the Owls Run

Valley of the Owls Run is organised by Zig Zag Running at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The route passes through the village of Ousden, known as the Valley of the Owls, and uses country lanes with some of the oldest roads in England and scenic countryside.

The event uses specific routes for different distances. The Dalham Kiln route serves as a half marathon loop. The 5k and 10k use the Goldings Hills Route. Runners under half marathon distance follow an out-and-back with a required turnaround. The half marathon is one loop, the full marathon is two loops, and the ultra includes the run to the 5k turnaround point.

There is a seven hour cut off. Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are provided approximately every 10k. Race HQ or base camp is located at the start and lap point and will host the main water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling. Only bone conductor headphones are permitted. A bespoke finisher medal is offered at the end of the race, with a lucky dip finisher option available for some distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
