Valley of the Owls Run

The event is based at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The route passes through the village of Ousden, known locally as the Valley of the Owls, and uses country lanes that include some of the oldest roads in England and scenic countryside.

Distances offered:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • Half marathon
  • Full marathon
  • Ultra marathon

Route formats vary by distance. The half marathon uses the Dalham Kiln loop. Runners on the full marathon complete two loops. Those running under half marathon distance follow an out-and-back Denham Flats route and are required to turn at a designated turnaround point. The ultra follows the route to the 5k turnaround point. Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are provided approximately every 10 km, and a Race HQ/Base Camp with a water/aid station is located at the start and lap point. Parking is included with entry.

Additional event details: a bespoke finisher medal is provided with an optional lucky dip finisher choice where available. The event operates cupless so participants should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Only bone conductor headphones are permitted. The event has a seven-hour cutoff for finishers.
