Thetford Festival of Running

The Thetford Festival of Running takes place at High Lodge in Thetford Forest, Brandon, IP27 0AF on Sunday 21 February 2027. The festival returns for its second year and offers a range of fixed-distance races on a looped route inside the forest. Distances available include:

The course is based on a 5.0 km loop within the grounds of Thetford Forest. The surface will be mainly pathway with a small section of trails and woodland; the final route is to be confirmed. A water and aid station will be located at the lap point. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own cup or bottle. The organiser has exclusive use of the main area and open space and will use Oak Lodge for registration and to provide complimentary tea, coffee and cake on completion.

Event details include a maximum of 300 entrants, a minimum age of 18 years, and entries closing on 19 February 2027. Event cut offs are set at six hours and four hours depending on the start. A **5 km** run at Banham Zoo that passes animal enclosures, includes full-day zoo entry and a finisher medal, and raises funds for conservation; spectator tickets and fundraising prizes are available.

A Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Norfolk Showground featuring climb, crawl and slide elements on a mostly flat route contained within the showground. Participants must be 13 or older and a minimum fundraising target of £50 applies.

Road marathon and half marathon from Suffolk Running Centre on measured Kirtling and Windmill routes. Aid stations every 10k, parking included and bespoke finisher medals; the event is cupless so bring your own bottle or cup.
