Thetford Festival of Running
Brandon, United Kingdom • 22 Feb 2026
Event Overview
The Thetford Festival of Running is a multi-distance running event. It takes place at a new venue for 2026: High Lodge in Thetford Forest, Brandon.
Distances
Participants can choose from several distances, which are built around a 5km loop:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
The Half Marathon is described as a "heavy half marathon," typically requiring 5 laps of the course, but runners have the option to adjust this to 6 or 7 laps on the day. The standard Ultra Marathon involves 9 laps, with an option to increase up to 12 laps depending on the available time. There are overall time limits for the event.
Course & Facilities
The route is mainly on pathways with a small section of trails and woodland; the final route is to be confirmed. An aid station with water is located at the lap point. The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own cups or bottles for refilling.
Registration and post-race refreshments (complimentary teas, coffee, and cake) are provided at Oak Lodge, adjacent to the main area. The location is described as self-contained with exclusive use of the main area and plenty of open space.
Parking is available for participants at a discounted rate of £5 with a provided QR code.
Additional Details
All finishers receive a bespoke event medal. Alternatively, for some distances, a "lucky dip" medal option is available, where runners can choose from a selection of previous medals. A portion of each entry fee (20%) is allocated to the upkeep of Thetford Forest and its woodlands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
