Zig Zag Marathon and Half

The event offers a full marathon and a half marathon based at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The marathon follows the Kirtling Route, which is officially measured and fully on road. The half marathon is one loop on the Windmill Route.

There is a seven hour cut off for the marathon. Aid stations supplying drinks and light snacks are positioned approximately every 10 kilometres. Race headquarters and the main aid station are located at the start and lap point. Parking is included with entry.

The course runs on quiet public roads; participants are advised to be aware of traffic when stepping out and to wear bright clothing for visibility. The event has adopted a cupless policy, so runners should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Only bone conductor headphones are permitted during the event. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal or, where available, a lucky dip finisher medal drawn from previous or finisher medals.
