The Zig Zag Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on 10 May 2026 at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. Distances available:

The event has a seven-hour cut-off for the marathon, a maximum of 300 entrants, and a minimum age of 18. Entries close on 09/05/2026. Parking is included in the entry price. Organiser: Zig Zag Running. There is an option to receive a bespoke finisher medal or a lucky-dip medal from previous events.

Course and race facilities

The marathon uses the Kirtling Route; it is an officially measured, fully on-road route described as mildly undulating and scenic. The half marathon is a single loop using the Windmill Route. Aid stations with drinks and snacks are provided about every 10 km. The Race HQ / Base Camp is at the start and lap point and includes a water/aid station. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Roads are generally quiet but traffic may be present; wearing high-visibility clothing is recommended.
