Zig Zag Marathon & Half Marathon

The event takes place at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. It offers a full marathon and a half marathon on road courses with a seven hour cut off for the marathon. Maximum entries are limited to 300 and entrants must be 18 or over. Entries close on 09/05/2026.

  • Marathon - Kirtling Route; officially measured, fully on road, mildly undulating
  • Half Marathon - one loop using the Windmill Route, road course

Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are positioned approximately every 10 km. Race HQ and base camp are located at the start and lap point and include a water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal; a lucky dip finisher option may allow selection from previous event medals.

The routes use quiet public roads. Participants should remain aware of traffic when stepping out and are advised to wear bright clothing. The event has a cupless policy so participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Only bone conductor headphones are permitted.

Guided trail runs by ESCAPE trails at High Lodge in Thetford Forest. Sessions in February and March 2026 feature forest facts, trail running tips, and routes of 10k and 16k with prices from £12.50 to £17.50.
