Your Story Matters Falcon 5K
The "Your Story Matters" Falcon 5K is an event held at the Jefferson Township High School athletic complex in Oak Ridge, New Jersey. Organized by the Jefferson Township Intermediate School, the event focuses on mental health awareness and brings together various non-profit organizations to share resources and information about their programs and services.
Participants can choose from the following events:
- 5K Trail Run/Walk
- Youth Color Fun Run
The 5K Trail Run takes place on the Jefferson Township High School cross-country course. Participants are permitted to walk, run, or jog the route. Awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place male and female finishers in overall rankings, as well as within 10-year age group categories.
The Youth Color Fun Run is held on the back fields of the athletic complex. During this event, children complete a lap and use color packs. Participants in this category are encouraged to wear white clothing to highlight the colors. The activity is supported by student groups and includes a visit from the school mascot and a craft activity.
The event site features music and giveaway items from local businesses. Proceeds from the registration fees support the Jefferson Township Education Foundation and the Middle School Positive Behavior Support In Schools program to facilitate social-emotional learning and mental health initiatives.
