YOUNGSTOWN ULTRA TRAIL CLASSIC: Youngstown, OH
The Youngstown Ultra Trail Classic is scheduled for September 12, 2026 at the Wick Recreation Area in Mill Creek Park. This is the 22nd running of the event and entries are limited.
The course runs through Mill Creek Park, an area maintained by the Ohio Metro Parks system and described as the second largest urban park in the USA after Central Park. The marked route is about 95% single track, passing mature trees, lakes, and waterfalls, with a mix of short steep hills and runnable terrain. Each 25K loop has approximately 1,397 feet of elevation gain.
Course layout and markings are described as follows: the route begins and finishes near the Bresko Pavilion, travels past the Mill and through the Covered Bridge, circles Newport Lake, and returns to the finish area. The course will be marked with white ribbon, white pie plates for turns, and water based white paint arrows.
Aid stations and services: there are two aid stations, Covered Bridge and the Start/Finish location. Covered Bridge is visited multiple times per loop at approximate mile points. Both aid stations provide water, sports drink, cut fruit, sandwiches, snacks, and feminine products; volunteers staff the stations. An after-race gathering is planned at the Bresko Pavilion.
Registration is capped at 250 runners (125 per distance). Race day signups will be available. Transfers are not permitted; deferments are allowed for pregnancy and postpartum situations. No refunds will be given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
