YHA 14 mile trail run

The YHA 14 mile trail run takes place on 22 November 2026 and holds TRA race permit 7715. The course begins with a notable climb and follows a mapped trail with views along the route.

A trail narrative is available to download and includes links to Strava & Garmin MapMyRun route maps. A GPX file for the route can also be downloaded.

Race day provisions include bottled water at the start, a water station about halfway, and complimentary tea, coffee and cake after the finish. Runners collect their race number and the event truckers cap at the YHA cafe prior to the start.

Organisers recommend travelling by train or bicycle to Southease on the Lewes-Seaford line because parking in the area is very limited. Competitors are advised to carry suitable clothing, water and nutrition for the weather. Trail shoes are recommended since some sections can be slippery with muddy puddles and chalk descents.

Entry details note a total of 50 places. Entry prices are scheduled as follows: until 31 Mar 2026 £19.00; until 31 May 2026 £20.00; until 11 Nov 2026 £23.00. Non TRA or UKA members pay a £2 levy on entry. A service fee of 4 percent applies to sign-ups with a minimum charge of 50p. No under 18s are permitted to compete.
