Event Information
The XC Experience is a 5k cross-country run/walk held on the grounds of R-S Central High School in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The event is scheduled for September 19, 2026.
Course Details
The course consists of two laps on the high school's cross-country route. The surface is primarily packed dirt or grass trails, with some paved sections. Participants start on the north end zone of the football field, enter wooded areas, and wind through foliage and open fields. The race finishes on the school's track.
Registration and Awards
Registration fees are structured by age. For adults, the fee is $25 until September 5, increasing to $30 afterward. For participants aged 18 and under, the fee is $10 until September 5, increasing to $15. A commemorative shirt is offered but is not guaranteed for registrations after September 5.
Awards are given in multiple categories. These include overall, masters (40 and over), and age group awards for male and female participants. The age groups range from 6 and under to 70 and over.
