The 45th Wrekin Fell Race

The Wrekin Fell Race is a Fell Runners Association (FRA) Category A Short Race held in Wellington, Telford. Organized by Telford Athletic Club, this event serves as the final race in the Shropshire Winter Series. The course covers a distance of 5.5 miles and features 1700 feet of total ascent. The event is open to runners aged 17 and older.

Participants must be prepared to carry FRA mandatory safety equipment depending on the conditions on the day. This kit includes a waterproof top and bottoms, a hat, gloves, a whistle, a compass, a map, and a bum-bag or backpack. Prizes are awarded to the first three men and women overall, as well as winners in age categories ranging from U20 to O/75.

The shorter 2.25-mile course, known as the Ercall Hill Races, is held at the same venue for junior categories (U14 to U18). This secondary route involves 416 feet of climbing.
