Event

Woodchester Trail Challenge takes place on 6 September 2026 and is organised by Stroud AC at Tinkley Gate National Trust, Tinkley Lane, Stonehouse GL10 3UH. The course is a demanding, hilly route of approximately eight miles on woodland tracks through Woodchester Park. The 2026 event uses a new starting location and route. The event is open to entrants aged 16 and over. A UKA / TRA licence has been applied for. All finishers will receive a metal souvenir medal. There is a strict race cut-off of 2 hours; the course will close and no finish times will be issued after this time.

Practical information, prizes and rules

Entry is listed at around £21. Prizes (vouchers for Bateman Sports) are awarded to individuals 1st–3rd male and female (£50/£30/£20), to teams of five 1st–3rd (£100/£50/£25), and to veteran categories from V40 upwards (£10). Standard personal listening devices are prohibited; only UKA/EA-approved bone-conducting headphones are permitted. There are no changing rooms, showers, or managed bag drop facilities. Competitors should complete emergency contact details on the reverse of their race number. Race numbers may be transferred to another runner up to 3 working days before race day via the Eventrac transfer facility. The club does not offer refunds for individual withdrawals; refunds will be issued if the event is postponed or cancelled by the organiser. Parking is available in the National Trust car park: free for National Trust members, £3 for non-members. The Strava route is to be confirmed for 2026.
