Womens Night Challenge

This is a women only night running event in County Wicklow on Friday 2nd October 2026. The route follows the Sugarloaf Way and is fully marked. The course distance is 7.00 km with approximately 277 m of climb. The event difficulty is rated 5, corresponding to easy terrain, 200 m to 500 m ascent and a course length of 6 km to 10 km. GPS use is allowed.

The event is presented as an introductory night challenge for running, walking or hiking and includes a sweeper on the route. All race entry fees will be donated to Bray Women's Refuge. Prizegiving will take place at the finish line at the GAA Club.

Mandatory kit is Level A Basic and all runners must bring a showerproof, windproof jacket. Organisers additionally require trail running shoes and a torch suitable for running at night, preferably a head torch. A back up torch or spare battery is recommended. The final decision on what kit must be carried will be given at registration on the day and participants should be able to carry required items. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification.

Entry details are not yet available. Getting there: N11 to Kilmacanogue, exit at roundabout in Kilmacanogue, left onto Quill Road then right fork and right onto Glencap Road to the GAA grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
