Women Can Marathon : Switzer60 Run, Exmouth, 18 April 2027

The Women Can Marathon is a women-only running event taking place on 18 April 2027 at Sideshore, Exmouth (Queen's Drive Space, Sideshore, Exmouth EX8 2GD). The event marks the 60th anniversary of Kathrine Switzer’s 1967 Boston Marathon run.

Races offered:

  • Marathon: 42.2 km, starts and finishes in Exmouth
  • Half marathon: starts in Tipton St John, follows the Otter Valley to Budleigh Salterton
  • 10K: starts in Budleigh Salterton, follows the coast path to Exmouth

The marathon route follows parts of the East Devon Way before joining the half marathon route at Tipton St John. The half marathon joins the 10K course near Budleigh Salterton. All routes are mostly off-road, except for a small section leaving Exmouth at the start of the marathon. Transport is available from the finish at Exmouth to the starts of the half marathon and 10K.

The Forde Abbey 10K will take place in Thorncombe on Wednesday 15 July 2026. You can run 10 kilometers.

Pretty Muddy 5k at Westpoint, Exeter is an obstacle course over mixed surfaces with a tarmac start and finish, staggered wave starts, an age limit of 13 and a minimum fundraising target of £50.

A new 100 mile team relay in South Devon on 19 July 2026, split into 16 legs from 5 km to just under 16 km. Teams of 10 to 16 runners compete for awards while the event raises funds for two local charities.

An informal Dartmoor trail run from Castle Drogo around the Teign Valley on 19 July 2026. About *11 ish* on good tracks at a social pace, with paid National Trust parking and a recommendation to wear trail shoes.
