Wivenhoe 5 Mile Trail Run

Boreham, United Kingdom • 7 Feb 2026

Event

The Wivenhoe 5 mile trail run takes place on 07 Feb 2026. The course uses the tail-end section of the old Colchester Kawasaki 10, run in the reverse direction. The event holds TRA permit number 7044 (TBC). The venue is The Black Buoy pub, a five-minute walk from both the railway station and the car park. Total places are limited to 50.

Course, entry and race rules

Registration and race number collection take place at the pub. Race numbers and pins are issued at the venue and must be worn on the front, unfolded. Manual timing may be used; if a number is not visible at the finish, a time may not be recorded. Bags left with the organisers are at the owner’s risk.

Non-TRA/UKA affiliated runners are required to pay a £2 levy on entry. The sign-up service charges a fee of 4% (minimum 50p). Early entry to 01 Jan 2026 is priced at £10.00; from 02 Feb 2026 the entry fee is £13.00.

The route narrative and an event GPX file are made available before the race. A tail walker will sweep the course and additional course marshals may be present. Participants must wear layers and trail shoes. Carrying a mobile phone is mandatory. Under 18s are not permitted because the venue is licensed. At the end of the run, competitors hand their number in behind the bar and may claim a beer, a glass of wine, or a hot or cold soft drink.
